Board Meeting, 28 August, 2023, 7:00 pm central time
- The meeting started at 7:08 PM CT.
- Present: Jim Thoune, Glen Crawford, David Rosenkoetter, Marilyn Bland, Jim Homme, and Michael Rodgerson. Apologies from Alex Barrasso.
- Jim Homme moved to approve the previous meeting’s minutes and the motion was seconded by David.
- The minutes should be sent out to board members who were present for approval so that they can then be circulated and posted to the web.
- Jim Thoune gave an update on the status of sanctioned members.
- Michael will type up the Treasurer’s Report and send it to the board after the meeting.
- Jim Thoune shared that the not- for-profit application is assembled and needs to be filed with the Secretary of state of Kentucky. This will happen soon.
- Marilyn is working on the compilation of the information regarding chess organizations in other countries. An update will be sent to the board in due course.
- Marilyn provided a suggested list as a way of organizing the contents of Challenger.
- David indicated Challenger would go out on 5 September.
- Jim Homme was working on the tournament groupings for the Revival Tournament due to start on 1 September.
- Jim Thoune, Marilyn, and David would meet to work on the constitution.
- Various board members would do outreach to schools for the blind and other organizations for VI.
- Sighted individuals are welcome to join USBCA.
- Michael made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Marilyn seconded it. The - meeting ended at 8:21 PM CT.
